Dingo Beach, oups, je l’ai dit. C’est pourtant le secret le mieux garde de ses habitants. Tous les touristes se ruent a Airlie Beach pour visiter les Whitsundays, ont rarement le temps ou l’envie d’aller voir ce qu’il se passe autour. Tant mieux pour nous. Dingo Beach est tranquille, préservée et conviviale. Grâce au pub-resto-hotel-bureau de poste-épicerie du village, nous avons fait la connaissance de Pat et Bertha qui nous ont accueilli chaleureusement, nous ont concocte des bons petits plats et surtout ont partage quelques histoires et photos des 70 pays qu’ils ont visités. Il nous en reste du chemin a faire. Dans leur énorme base de photos, on a retrouve des tirages d’ eux quand ils étaient nous.

Dingo Beach, oops, I said it. And yet, it’s the best kept secret of its inhabitants. The tourists rush towards Airlie Beach to visit the Whitsundays and barely have the time or feel like wandering around. So much the better. Dingo Beach is quiet, preserved and convivial. Thanks to the pub-restaurant-hotel-post office-grocery of the village, we met Pat and Bertha who welcomed us warmly, concocted nice meals and above all, shared with us some stories and photos of the 70 countries they visited. We’ve got so much to see. In their huge database of photos, we found some shots of them when they were just like us.
Cette petite bourgade miniere au Nord-Est de Charters Towers (cf. roadmap) ne manque pas d’attraction, ni d’animation…
